Once, the demons tortured the Devas, Yakshas, Gandharvas and sages. They caught hold of Airavat and Lord Indra and placed them before their gates. They stopped the way to heaven and so many Devas lost their lives. Then Sage Narada instructed them to worship the Shivalinga present at the east of Indradumneshwar in Mahakal forest. Because of that Linga, Raja Ishan got his kingdom back. So it was named Ishaneshwar. All the Devas got happy and worshipped that Linga and explained their problems. A huge fire exploded from that Linga and destroyed the leader of the demons, Mundasur's son Tuhund and his army. The Devas got back their posts. They got their kingdom back due to Lord's mercy.
