Location

Melkote is in Pandavapura Taluk in Mandya Dist in Karnataka. It is also known as Thirunarayanapuram. The temple is built on rocky hills known as Yadavagiri or Yadugiri overlooking the Cauvery valley. It is about 51 km from Mysore and 133 km from Bangalore. If coming from Bangalore, after reaching Mandya Town take the right turn and that road leads to Melkote. If coming from Mysore there are plenty of buses from Mysore to Melkote or take the Tumkur bus and get down at Jakkanahalli Cross and you will get plenty of share autos to Melkote. |
