Location
The temple is situated on the bank of Vennar river nearly 4 kms from Thanjavur towards Kumbakonam just opposite to the famous Divyadesam Thanjai Maamani Koil. |
Architecture
History
Kuberan was the ruler of Srilanka. During his rule, he lost all his property and reign to Ravanan. So he worshipped Thanjapureeswarar to recover Srilanka. It was believed that Kuberan got all his treasures on new moon day in the month of October. So every year in the month of October on new moon day, Kubera Yagna is done. |
