Location

The temple is located 3kms from Ambasamudram. Ambasamudram is 30 kms from Tirunelveli on Tirunelveli - Papanasam Road. The vehicles can go up to the temple. No much facilities available there. We have stay either at Tirunelveli or Ambasamudram and visit this temple. 

Architecture

Originally the temple was build by King Raja Raja Chola and gifted this village to Vedic scholars for chanting the four Vedas hence this village was called "Chadhur-Veda-Mangalam". Subsequent additions to this temple were made by Pandiya and Koysala Kings. There are five sanctums inside this temple 1. Kailasanadhar and Bruhannayaki 2. Badari Vaneeswarar, 3. Viswanathar and Visalakshi, 4. Arunachaleeswarar and Unnamalai, 5. Sundareeswarar and Meenakshi.

History

Legends here is the Lord Kailasanadhar and Lord Badari Vaneeswarar are Swayambu Lingams and Lord Badari Vaneeswarar, being the original deity here was worshipped by Saint Romasa Maharishi, the grandson of Lord Bramha. Hence this place was called as "Bramhadesam".
