"Pradyumne Shrinkhala devi"
The sacred third seat among the Ashtadasha Shakti Peethas is dedicated to Goddess Shrinkhala Devi, located at ancient Pradyumna Nagari (modern Pandua in Hooghly district, West Bengal). Here, Devi Sati's stomach (Udara / intestine) is consecrated as the origin of divine spiritual energy.
The name Shrinkhala signifies the divine chain or binding force of cosmic harmony that frees devotees from the mundane shackles (bandhana) of ignorance and karma.
Historically revered across Bengal and Eastern India, the sanctuary of Pradyumna was celebrated for grand Tantric and Vedic rituals. A historic minar and pond now mark the ancient vicinity where an annual Mela and gathering take place in honor of the Mother.
Legend says that Sage Rishyasringa was born with the grace of Shrinkhala Devi. Devotees suffering from life obstacles, confinement, or insurmountable worldly troubles pray to Shrinkhala Devi for liberation and divine maternal protection.
