About Govindha
As Lord can be attained through the Vedas, as He is the protector of the Earth and of Cows, and as He is the giver of deliverance, He is called 'Govindha'.
He holds the Club and Lotus in His upper left and right hands, and the Disc and Conch in His lower left and right hands.
He is the governing power of the letter 'Tuh' of the Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'Bha' of the Mahamantra, 'Manas Tattva' — one of the 24 Tattvas — and the Urdhvapundra marked on the throat during the light half of the lunar month. He is the custodian of Ghee, 'Karkatagarasi' and the lunar month of 'Phalguna'.
He dwells in the 'Sankhininaadi'. He is to be meditated upon at the time of playing games.
