Lord Vishnu has assumed innumerable forms for the benefit of the mankind. He is of infinite forms. Among these, the 10 Incarnations such as Matsya, Kurma etc and 24 forms such as Kesava, NARAYANA etc only are familiar to all. The Gayathri Mantra and Mahamantra describes the various forms of Lord Vishnu. Each letter in Gayathri Mantra and Mahamantra represent one form of Lord Vishnu.
