He is the Governing power of the  letter 'Re' of Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'Va' of Mahamantra, 'Tvak Tattva'  one of the 24 Tattvas and Urdhvapundra marked on the left breast during the light half of the lunar month. He is the custodian of the Sweet called 'Mandige', lunar month of 'Vaisakha'  and 'Kanyarasi'. He dwells in the "Hastininaadi".
