As Lord bears and fosters Lordess Lakshmi, who is spoken of with the significant word 'SRI' and bears her on His chest always, He is called 'Sridharaa'. He will be holding Disc and Club on the upper left and right hands and Conch and Lotus on the lower left and right hands. He is the Governing power of the  letter 'Bha' of Gayathri Mantra, the letter 'Su' of Mahamantra, 'Ghrana Tattva'  one of the 24 Tattvas and Urdhvapundra marked on the left side of the abdomen during the light half of the lunar month. He is the custodian of the dish prepared on boiled split pulse, lunar month of 'Sravana'  and 'Dhanurasi'. He dwells in the "Nandhanaadi".
