Location

The temple is situated in Thiruppudaimaruthur village near Veeravanallur in Tirunelveli.

Architecture

It is believed that this temple is built before 10th century by Cholas. There is an inscription about the naval victory of King Raja Rajan in the south-west corner of the first praharam. Further built by Pandiyas. The Central tower resembles Bramhadesam and Mannarkoil.

History

This temple is one of the three Arjuna Kshetharas in South. The other two are Srisailam on the banks of Krishna and Thiruvidaimaruthur on the banks of Cauvery. This temple is situated on the banks of Tamirabarani.

Festival

This temple is famous for its Neeraazhi Mandapadam. Thai Poosam is celebrated in a grand manner with float festival.
